There is a delicate liminality about his work, brooding ambient swells that often mimic the structured progressions of sacred chants; if in religious ceremonial there is an effort to conjure the presence of the divine, Abbey\u2019s music seems only to contemplate a presence, certainly enough akin to staring at the sun or finding the crown of the universe hollow.
