Known for both his solo work and collaborations with Richard Kamerman and Anne Guthrie, Gomberg has amassed an impressive discography including work for labels such as Digitalis, Experimedia, and Students of Decay. He also released a gorgeous tape on Milwaukee\u2019s Avant Archive that is a must find. All of this suggests that the intersection of Gomberg with Sunshine Ltd. is bound to be a special convergence of like-minded souls. Fading synth tones and glacially shifting melodies are softly punctuated by occasional acoustic elements to create a seamless cocoon of warm sound. Waves of overlapping harmonics and droning layers of hinted fuzz help to flesh out the experience while the undulating abstract scenes of water in the video wash over the viewer. The tape itself, Certain Words Again and Again is equally stunning, with four long-form pieces (alternatively, three tracks on the digital version) that allow for full immersion into Gomberg\u2019s sonic world.
