\tThis year’s theme is “WIDE OPEN” in honor of the wide open spaces of the prairie where the Krannert Art Museum at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is located AND where the 2008 exhibit is being graciously hosted.<\/p>\n

\tTHE SHOW DATES ARE NOVEMBER 4TH, 2008 THROUGH JANUARY 4TH, 2009. OPENING CELEBRATION WILL BE DECEMBER 11, 2008 5:30 – 8:30 P.M. The UIUC Laptop Ensemble will perform live improvised soundtracks to the videos in the exhibit, as well as some pre-composed music during the opening.<\/p>\n

\t This year’s CURATOR\/ORGANIZER IS DAMON LOREN BAKER. Damon is the Associate Curator of Art, Design, and Technology at the Krannert Art Museum at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He directs the Intermedia Gallery\/Lab which brings together artists from around the world to explore the opportunities provided by advances in science and technology, collaborates with researchers in laboratories at the Siebel Center for Computer Science, the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, and the Beckman Institute, develops software for the creation of virtual reality art, and is part of the Cultural Informatics project of the Institute for Advanced Computing Applications and Technologies.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
